Lance Corporal Walter Adlington

Battalion: 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Bishop Auckland, County Durham, Son of George and Hannah Adlington of Main Street, Newton, Alfreton, Derbyshire. He was a coal miner at Blackwell Colliery, Derbyshire prior to enlisting at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. He went to France on 27th August 1915 and was killed in action on 3rd February 1916 whilst serving in the trenches near Rue de- Quesnoy, France.
