Private Richard Francis Adkins

Battalion: 1/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Son of Agnes Adkins, of Alms houses, Wellington Street, Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire. He was a builder prior to enlisting on 26th October 1915 at Derby. He went to France on 11th June 1916 and suffered gunshot wounds to his back and abdomen, on 24th May 1917. He was admitted to Hospital in Calais, on 27th May 1917 and was transferred to England on 7th June 1917. He was discharged from the Army no longer physically fit for active service on 10th May 1918 suffering from Melancholia. He died on 19th November 1918.
