Born at Sandiacre, Derbyshire. Son of William and Sarah Ellen Adams, of 6, Marcus Street, New Lenton, Nottingham. He was a cotton spinners card hand prior to enlisting at Mansfield in October 1914. Went to France on 28th June 1915 and was killed in action in the attack near Fontaine Au Bois, France, on 23rd October 1918, aged 22.
