He lived at New Sawley, Derbyshire. Son of James William and Ruth Adams, of 32, Charnwood Avenue, New Sawley, Derbyshire. He was a lace draughtsman prior to enlisting at Nottingham on 2nd November 1914 and went to France on 28th June 1915, and he died of wounds on 7th August 1916, age 20. at Le Treport, France.
