Born at Derby and was the son of John and Caroline Adams. Lived at 31 Hempshall Lane, Bulwell, Nottinghamshire, and was the husband of Elizabeth Adams of 17 Main Street, Bulwell. He was a coal miner at Bestwood Colliery, Nottinghamshire. He enlisted at Kimberley, Nottinghamshire on 5th March 1912. Went to France on 2nd March 1915 and was killed in action whilst serving in the line near Kemmel, Belgium. 10th April 1915.
