Born at Wellington, Salop, (Shropshire). Husband of Florence Elizabeth Crosby (formerly Abbott), of 4, Spencer Street Carr Vale, Bolsover, Derbyshire. He enlisted at Chesterfield, Derbyshire and served in Gallipoli in 1916. He died of wounds at Fort Pitt, Military Hospital, Chatham, Kent, on 20th October 1916.

Buried: Bolsover (St. Mary) New Churchyard, Derbyshire. Grave 126.
