Born at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. Son of Maria Abbot. of Main Street, Newthorpe, Nottinghamshire. Son of William and Maria Abbott, of Main Street, Newthorpe. Husband of Eliza Abbott. He was a bricklayers labourer prior to enlisting at Derby. He died of wounds 18th September 1917.

Buried: Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium. Plot 19, Row D. Grave 13.
