Born at Sutton Bridge, Lincolnshire and lived at Alfreton, Derbyshire. Husband of Mary Ellen Wilson. He enlisted at Chesterfield, Derbyshire and was killed in action, 6th September 1916, whilst serving in the line in “Long Acre” sector, near Beaumont Hamel, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
