WARD  Frederick William: Private 23625: 15th (Bantam) Battalion: London Gazette 27.7.1916: For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in the Neuve Chapelle Sector on 30.5.1916. His company commander was wounded, but refused to leave his post. Pte Ward remained with him. When the enemy were rushing the trench, Pte Ward was ordered to take a report to Brigade Headquarters, which he did under very heavy fire, subsequently returning to the front line trenches.: Killed in Action whilst serving with 16th (Chatsworth Rifles) Battalion  28.5.1917, near Brandhoek.

Died : 28th May 1917.

Buried/Commemorated : Vlamertinghe Military Cemetery, Belgium. Plot 7. Row C. Grave 7.
