Born at Harlaxton, Lincolnshire. Brother of Mrs. Frances A. Gilman, of 7, Sherbrook Terrace, Sherbrook Road, Daybrook, Arnold, Nottingham. He was a brewers clerk. He enlisted at Nottingham, went to Gallipoli 7th August 1915 and died 3rd October 1915, age 23.
