Battalion : 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Son of Eliza Toon, of 95, Cumming Street, Derby, and the late Charles Toon, who also fell.

Killed in action, 14th February 1916, aged 20, during heavy German shellfire and the explosion of a German mine, prior to the German attack of the front line trenches, near the canal to the south-east of Ypres, Belgium.
