Private George Stevenson

Battalion : 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Southwell, Nottinghamshire. Son of George and Hannah Stevenson, of 75 Calverton Road, Arnold, Nottingham. He was a farm labourer before he enlisted at Nottingham, 23rd January 1907. He served in India between 5th January 1909 and 2nd October 1914. He went to France 4th November 1914 and was killed by German shellfire whilst in reserve trenches 13th March 1915.
