Son of Frank Spinks, and of Sarah Spinks (now Allen), of 272, St. Anns Well Road., Nottingham.

He was killed in action, 24th April 1917, aged 24, when a German 8 inch shell burst in the courtyard of battalion headquarters at Lievin, France.
