Born at Balderton, Newark, Nottinghamshire, and was a tool grinder. Son of Christopher and Elizabeth Roe, of 27, Smith Street, New Balderton, Newark, Nottinghamshire. He enlisted 9th September 1914 at Newark. Died 5th October 1915. Age 25.

Buried/Commemorated : Dud Corner Cemetery, Loos, France. Plot III, Row K, Grave 8.
