Battalion: 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Bulwell, Nottinghamshire. Son of Edward and Mary Elizabeth Richardson, of Bulwell. He lived at the Newsagents Shop on Commercial Road, Bulwell. He enlisted at Nottingham on 22nd August 1914 and went to Gallipoli in July 1915. He was then sent to Egypt and the Suez Canal before being posted to France. He was wounded at Ovillers, on the Somme, France, and was sent to Etaples, France, on 26th September 1916. He died of wounds at No. 6 Red Cross Hospital, Etaples 2nd October 1916, aged 23.
