Born and lived at Stafford. Son of William and Teresa Rice, of 7, Newport Road, Stafford. Husband of Francis M. Harvey. He was a house painter prior to enlisting at Stafford. He was killed in action, 23rd August 1916, whilst serving in Maltz Horn trench, near Talus Bois, Guillemont during the Battle of the Somme.
