Born atlived at Low Row, near Carlisle, Cumberland. Son of William and Margaret Eleanor Potts, of Nether Denton, Cumberland. He enlisted at Gateshead and was killed in action, 7th April 1917, during the attack at Le Verguier, north-west of Saint Quentin, France.
