Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of George and Susan Maria Pendry, of 1, First Avenue, Sherwood Rise, Nottingham. He was a photographer prior to enlisting on 7th December 1915 at Nottingham. He went to France on 12th October 1916 and was posted to the 1/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, on 18th October 1916. He was killed in action, on 1st July 1917, age 29, in the attack to the west of Lens, France.
