Born at Nottingham and lived at Hollis Street, New Basford, Nottingham. Son of Samuel and Clara Parker, of 3, Cliff Terrace, New Basford, Nottingham. He was a chemical packer prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France on 27th October 1915 and was killed in action, on 1st July 1916, age 20, in the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
