Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of John Henry and Agnes Parker, of 73, Kimbolton Avenue, Derby Road, Nottingham. He enlisted at Nottingham and served in Gallipoli during 1915 with the 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He was killed in action on 5th July 1916, aged 19, in support of the attack on the German positions at Fricourt/Fricourt Wood, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
