Private William James Palmer

Battalion : 1/8th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of Herbert James and Emma Palmer, of 24, Nuttall Road, Bobbers Mill, Nottingham. He was a baker prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 6th December 1917, aged 20, whilst serving in the line near St. Elie, France.
Buried: Philosophe British Cemetery, Mazingarbe, France. Plot 3. Row A, Grave 46.

His brother Private Leonard Palmer, 16th Battalion Cheshire Regiment, also fell in the Great War.
