Battalion : 1/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Son of the late George and Ellen Moore, of Alfreton, Derbyshire. He lived at 13 Hall Street, Alfreton, Derbyshire. Enlisted at Alfreton, Derbyshire 27th February 1915, went to France 26th March 1915. At about 3am on 9th December 1916, whilst out on a wiring party in front of his trench, he was accidentally wounded by machine gun fire, when a machine gunner of his own battalion opened fire on Private Moore and Private L. E. Pope, mistaking them for the enemy. Private Moore died of wounds 8th March 1917. Age 19.
