Born at Annesley, Nottinghamshire. Son of John and Betsy Mitchell, of 60, Whyburn Street, Hucknall, Nottinghamshire. Lived at Hucknall and enlisted at Derby. He went to France on 8th September 1914 and was killed in action on 26th September 1914.
