Born at Nottingham and lived at 7, Mafeking Street, Colwick, Nottingham. Husband of Mary Ann Millington. He was a railway porter prior to enlisting 2nd June 1912 at Nottingham. He went to France 14th December 1915 and Died of wounds 8th October 1916, aged 29, received in the attack on the Schwaben Redount, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
