Battalion : 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Harthorn, Warwickshire and lived at 444, Whitemoor Road, Bobber’s Mill, Nottingham. Son of Arthur James and Sarah Measures. He was a leather dresser prior to enlisting 13th August 1914 at Nottingham. He went to France 23rd March 1915 and was killed in action, 27th October 1916, whilst in the line near Trones Wood, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
