Born at Nottingham and lived at 8, Deligne Street, Radford, Nottingham. Son of Alfred Frederick and Annie Martin, of 1 Moorgate Street, Radford. He was a threader prior to enlisting 2nd May 1911 at Nottingham. He went to France 28th February 1915, and was killed in action, 31st May 1915, whilst serving in the line at Kemmel, Belgium.
