Battalion : 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Holloway, Derbyshire. Son of Thomas and Alice B Marsh. He was a wool sorter at J. Smedley (Hosiery Factory), Lea Mills, Derbyshire prior to enlisting at Derby. He was killed in action, 12th August 1916, aged 20, whilst serving in the line between Montauban and Longuval, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
