Born and lived at Whitwell, Derbyshire. Husband of Florence Lowe. He enlisted at Worksop, Nottinghamshire, went to France 29th August 1915 and was killed in action, 26th July 1916, whilst serving in the line near Contalmaison, France during the Battle of the Somme.
