Born at Nottingham and lived at 19, Norwood Road, Old Radford, Nottingham. Son of Amelia and John William Locke, of Northumberland. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 19th August 1917, aged 22, whilst serving in the line to the east of Steenbeke, Belgium.
