Born at Nottingham and lived at 34, Norland Road, Nottingham. Husband of Elizabeth Gertrude Humphreys. He enlisted at Nottingham and was killed in action, 3rd September 1916, during the attack on the German positions near Beaumont Hamel, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
