Born at Beckingham, Nottinghamshire. and lived at Allen Town, Derby. Husband of J. Crofts (formerly Holmes), of 20, Poole Street, Allen Town, Derby. He was a foundry worker prior to enlisting at Derby. He went to France 17th August 1915 and died of wounds 12th May 1917.
