Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Holmes, of Nottingham. He enlisted at Nottingham. Went to France 8th September 1914 and was gassed May 20th and died 26th May 1915, aged 24. at No. 2 Casualty Clearing Station, Bailleul, France.
