Born at Hanley, Stoke-On-Trent and lived at 53 Albion Road, Birches Head Stoke-On-Trent. Son of Henry Thomas and Sarah J. Heath, of 20, Hassall Street, Hanley; Husband of Elsie Heath, of 20, Hassall Street Hanley, Stoke-On-Trent. He was a kiln fireman prior to enlisting 2nd December 1915 at Hanley. He went to France 8th June 1917 and transferred to the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 29th June 1917. He was killed in action, 6th July 1917, aged 22, whilst serving in the line near the Menin Road, near Ypres, Belgium.
