Battalion : 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Mansfield and lived at 8 Belvedere Street, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. Son of John and Sarah Ann Haynes, of 5, Spencer Street, Mansfield. He was an apprentice butcher prior to enlisting at Mansfield. He was killed action, 31st July 1917, aged 23, during the attack near Bellewaarde Lake, Belgium.

Buried: Tyne Cot Cemetery, Belgium. Plot 27. Row C. Grave 8.
