Son of George Henry and Mary Elizabeth Harlow, of 66, Werburgh Street, Derby. He was Boot Finisher for Messrs Jackson Davies & Co, Derby, prior to enlisting at Derby. He went to France in March 1916 and was killed in action, on 1st July 1916, aged 19, during the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
