Born at Cressage, Salop and lived at 21 St. John Street, Wellington, Salop. Son of William and Elizabeth Hall, of 62, Holyhead Road, Wellington, Salop. He was a lamplighter prior to enlisting on 18th November 1915. He served in Singapore with the King’s Shropshire Light Infantry, form the 2nd April 1916 to the 4th August 1917. He went to France 1st April 1918 and was transferred to the 15th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 9th April 1918. He was killed in action, 1st October 1918, aged 20, during the attack near Tenbrielen, Belgium.
