British War and Victory MedalBorn at Leicester and lived at Blidworth, Nottinghamshire. Son of William and Maria Gunby, of Main Street, Blidworth. Husband of Ada Annie Gunby, of Slack Lane, Ripley, Derbyshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, 5th December 1916. He went to France 17th August 1918 and was killed in action 20th October 1918, in the attack on the German positions near the River Selle, France.
