Born at Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. Son of Samuel and Ann Gregory, of 120 St. Michael Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield. He was a draper. He enlisted at Nottingham 8th August 1914, went to France 3rd May 1915 and died of wounds at No.2 British Red Cross Hospital, Rouen, 7th November 1915, aged 25.
