Born at Markham, Derbyshire. Husband of Edith Annie Gregory. he enlisted at Bolsover, Derbyshire and was killed in action, 10th October 1916, during the attack on the German positions at the Schwaben Redoubt, France, during the Battle of the Somme.

Commemorated : Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.
