Born at Chiswick, Middlesex and lived at Hounslow, London. Son of William and Elizabeth Gray, of 24 Stafford Road, Hounslow. He was a Boot Repairer prior to enlisting 11th December 1915 at Hounslow. He went to France 16th July 1916 and was killed in action, 9th September 1916, by German Shellfire near Bretancourt, France.
