British 15 Star, British War and Victory MedalBorn at Ordsall, Nottinghamshire. Son of Samuel and Elizabeth Grant, of Belvedere Villas. Ollerton Road, Retford, Nottinghamshire. He was employed by the Great Northern Railway as a telegraph signal lad prior to enlisting at Retford. He went to France 2nd March 1915 and was killed in action, 24th April 1915, age 22 by German shellfire whilst serving in the line at Kemmel, Belgium.
