Born at Willsden, Yorkshire and lived at Bradford, Yorkshire. Son of George and Amelia Elizabeth Goodchild, of 12 Giles Street, Bradford. He was a warehouseman prior to enlisting at Bradford. He was killed in action, 3rd January 1917, whilst serving in the trenches near Combles, France.
