Born and lived at Ambergate, Derbyshire, Son of Bernard and Elizabeth Glossop, of West View, Ambergate. He was an electrical engineer at Derby Station prior to enlisting at Derby. He went to France 14th July 1915 and was killed in action, 19th December 1915, by a German gas shell near Ypres, Belgium.
