Born at Camberwell, Surrey. Son of Charles Glen and husband of Margaret Glen. He was a Clerk prior to enlisting on 21st May 1910 at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. He was appointed Lance Corporal on 19th September 1911 and promoted Corporal on 17th April 1913. He went to France on 8th September 1914 and suffered shrapnel wounds to his left hand on 20th September 1914. He returned to England on Hospital Ship Asturias on 27th September 1914. Whilst in England he was appointed Lance Sergeant on 5th November 1914. He returned to France on 26th January 1915 and was promoted to Sergeant on 20th March 1915 and was killed in action, on 16th September 1916, during the attack on the German lines near Guillemont, France during the Battle of the Somme.
