Lance Corporal Percy Fretwell

Battalion : 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Eastwood, Nottinghamshire and lived at Creswell, Derbyshire. Grandson of John and Phoebe Fretwell, of 8 Welbeck Street, Creswell. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Mansfield. He was killed in action, 7th July 1916, in the attack on the German positions at Quadrangle Support, near Contalmaison, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
