Son of George and Hannah Firby, of New Tupton, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He died at No. 25 Field Ambulance on 29th January 1915, aged 22, from wounds received in action on the 27th of January 1915.

Buried: Estaires Communal Cemetery and Extension, France. Plot 1. Row F. Grave 1.
