British 15 Star, British War and Victory MedalBorn and lived at Bakewell, Derbyshire. Son of Alfred Payne Fewkes and Fanny Fewkes, of Buxton Road, Bakewell. He was a Poor Law Clerk at Arthur Hawe’s Union Office prior to enlisting on 13th August 1914 at Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He went to France on 28th February 1915 and was killed in action, 27th June 1915, aged 24, whilst serving in the line at Kemmel, Belgium.
