He was born at Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire, Son of Samuel and Mary Ellen Dove, of Waverley House, Priestic Road., Sutton-In-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. Husband of Margaret Dove of Sherwood Rise, Carrington, Nottingham. He was employed at Messrs’ Dove & Clarke Ltd. hosiery manufacturers. He enlisted at Nottingham and was killed 18th September 1918, age 25.
