Battalion: 2/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Worksop, Notts. Son of  Richard Parkin and Sarah Coupland (Formerly Dickson), of Markham Moor, Tuxford, Newark, Nottinghamshire. He wass a coal miner prior to enlisting aty Newark, Notts. H was killed in action, 5th May 1917, age 37. during the consolidation, after the captureur of Malakof Farm.

Commemorated : Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.

He wis also commemorator on the Worksop War Memorial, St Anns Church war Memorial, Worksop and St Mary and St Cuthbert priory church war memorial, Worksop.
