Born at Fernilea, Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire. Son of Richard and Hannah Depledge; Husband of Dinah Depledge of 8, Johnson Street, Whaley Bridge, Stockport. He was a Cotton Blacker prior to enlisting on 14th December 1914 at Chesterfield. He went to France on 28th February 1915 and died of wounds on 5th July 1916, aged 36.
